Live Without It Lyrics
You know that we can make things happen
That is what you say when you always come
And I feel what you don’t feel it’s real
And that is what we make them understand
We’ll show them we can live without it
We’ll prove you get through without it
I know about what what goes on in there
But I know better not to sit and stare
Too long at what makes me colourblind
You’re like the sun but you never shine
We’ll show them we can live without it
We’ll prove you get through without it
We’ll show them we can live without it
We’ll prove you get through without it
But sometimes it feels so right
It feels so right
It feels so right
So right, so right, so right
So right, so right
That is what you say when you always come
And I feel what you don’t feel it’s real
And that is what we make them understand
We’ll prove you get through without it
But I know better not to sit and stare
Too long at what makes me colourblind
You’re like the sun but you never shine
We’ll prove you get through without it
We’ll show them we can live without it
We’ll prove you get through without it
It feels so right
It feels so right
So right, so right, so right
So right, so right

I always figured this was just about someone trying to get off the drugs.
i always thought outside of me was about drugs
I thought it was about sex ("When you always come"), and how it can be a drug of its own. Being only thirteen when the song was written, they might have been told to give it up until they were older, but they wanted to show their families ("them") that they can live without it and its consequences.
