When You're A Free Man Lyrics
Time quickly passes by,
If only we could talk again.
Some day I hope I'll see you (smiling)
When you're a free man again.
High on a mountain side
We laughed and talked of things to come.
Some way I know I'll see you shining
When we're all free men again.
You left your country
For peace of mind
And something tells me
You're doing alright.
How are the children
And Rosemary?
I long to see you
And be in your company.
Some way I hope I'll see you (smiling)
When you're a free man again.
I often wonder why
Our world has gone so far astray.
Some way I know I'll see you shining
When we're all free men again.
You gave love freely
To those with tears.
Your eyes were sad when
You saw the need.
You know that love lasts
For eternity.
Let's be God's children
And live in perfect harmony.
Some way I know I'll see you shining
When you're a free man,
When we're all free men again.
Yeah
If only we could talk again.
Some day I hope I'll see you (smiling)
When you're a free man again.
High on a mountain side
We laughed and talked of things to come.
Some way I know I'll see you shining
When we're all free men again.
For peace of mind
And something tells me
You're doing alright.
How are the children
And Rosemary?
I long to see you
And be in your company.
When you're a free man again.
Our world has gone so far astray.
Some way I know I'll see you shining
When we're all free men again.
To those with tears.
Your eyes were sad when
You saw the need.
You know that love lasts
For eternity.
Let's be God's children
And live in perfect harmony.
When you're a free man,
When we're all free men again.

Folks, this wonderful song by Mike Pinder is his SECOND homage to Timothy Leary. That's right! Obviously everyone knows about "Timothy Leary's Dead." This song has more subtle references. It was written after Tim was "liberated" by the Weather Underground following his 1970 incarceration in a prison; he and his wife Rosemary then lived in exile, first in Algeria and then in Switzerland. Ah, those were the days!
I have been listening to this song for 40 plus years and had no idea it was about Timothy. Your right those were the good ole days!
