Go Now! Lyrics
We've already said ‘Goodbye’.
Since you've got to go
Oh you had better go now.
Go now. Go now. Go now
Before you see me cry.
I don't want you to tell me
Just what you intend to do now.
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you
Darling, darling,
I'm still in love
With you now?
We've already said ‘So long’
I don't want to see you go.
Oh you had better go now.
Go now. Go now. Go now
Don't you even try telling me
You don't want to end this way
'Cause, darling, darling,
Can't you see I want you to stay?
We've already said ‘Goodbye’.
Since you've got to go
Oh you had better go now.
Go now. Go now. Go now
Before you see me cry.
I don't want you to tell me
Just what you intend to do now.
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you
Darling, darling,
I'm still in love,
Still in love,
With you now?
I don't want to see you go
But, darling,
You'd better go now.
Since you've got to go
Oh you had better go now.
Go now. Go now. Go now
Before you see me cry.
I don't want you to tell me
Just what you intend to do now.
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you
Darling, darling,
I'm still in love
With you now?
I don't want to see you go.
Oh you had better go now.
Don't you even try telling me
You don't want to end this way
'Cause, darling, darling,
Can't you see I want you to stay?
Since you've got to go
Oh you had better go now.
Before you see me cry.
I don't want you to tell me
Just what you intend to do now.
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you
Darling, darling,
I'm still in love,
Still in love,
With you now?
But, darling,
You'd better go now.

Yeah, although the singer is saying 'Go Now' he really doesn't want her to go at all. She is really saying 'goodbye' to him.
Denny Lane sang this song with the Moody Blues and with Wings (McCartney) on Wings Over America. Personally I like the Wings version better - I think it's sung with more emotion and the horn arrangement adds something to it. Sonically, The Moody Blues version sounds terrible (musically it's fine) - too much modulation or it was simply recorded poorly.
well.. i think the message of this song is kinda obvious....
good song.. emotional..
Go Now became this song that so many people loved just because of how it sounded and I heard the Moody Blues got fed up with singing it and someone asked at a concert, and they yelled back "Buy the record!" But who knows? I wasn't there ...
