[RL]
To just act like we never were
To come around and not show hurt
How dare we greet by shaking hands
Just months ago, I was your man, was your man

Verbally we'd agreed it was over
And we were through
I'm trying to compose myself
But I just can't get over you, girl

We can't be friends
(Yeah, no oh)
We can't be friends
(Deborah, you know I can't go on being just your friend, yeah)
We can't be friends
Cuz I'm still in love with you

[Deborah]
I went by mother's, saw your car there
To her you're still family
And it don't seem fair
For everyone to just go on
And I've tried and I can't do it
Cuz I'm still torn

I tried to think of you as just another love
In my past that didn't last
But it's not that simple, baby

We can't be friends
(oh no, no, no, no)
We can't be friends
(If we, if we can't be lovers)
We can't be friends
Cuz I'm still in love with you

[Both]
You may see me staring
Or catch me in a daze
May see me hang my head
When you come my way
Don't get too close to me
And expect me to behave

[RL ] I might just steal a kiss
[Both] If you come near my face
What I'm trying to say

Repeat 1 while:
[RL ] We can't be friends
[Dc ] Can you look me in the eyes
and honestly say you dont love me?
[RL ] Said do you know
[Dc ] R.L. I know
[Both] I'll never ever find another love like you, oh no
[RL ] I love you too much baby
[Dc ] I love you too much, oh
[Both] We can't be friends, I'm still in love
[Dc ] with you
[RL ] With you
[Dc ] I am
[RL ] Still in love
[dc ] Still in love
[RL ] You didn't have to leave
[Both] With you

this song is telling how two people feel about each other but made the decision to move on. i can relate to this song because me and my ex broke up and he still came around like things were still the same. we ended up not being friends becuase it hurt way too much. so basically its saying that when you end a relationship it is hard to be just friends becuase the fellings will still be there no matter what!

i love this song so much. i can also relate to this song, because my ex and i were friends before we dated. after we broke up we tryed to be friends and it hurt so much. Every now and then we would see each other at my little brothers, and everytime the feelings would come back. After about 2 years he called me out of the blue and it really messed me out.

I absolutely love this song. I was searching for the lyrics, high and low. This song is so sweet. I'm right along with babygurl. Right now I'm going through the same thing. it's hard to be around my ex. To make it so bad we work together. I still have feelings for him. Every time I get around him I want to hug him or something. But we agreed to let each other go.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
