Winter Lyrics
You're crying but as long as it's transparent and not red
There's no real reason to be sad to the people who are
Smiling, always happy, always gay they do not know
That the edges of the mouth can move the other way
You're freezing, the ice on which you nearly slipped outside
Is in your body, in your mind, getting warmer you are
Dreaming, quite useless but it feels okay to you
In a world that's dreaming too, in a world in which you
Keep on searching for a thing sublime
When all you need is inside of you
Everybody's waiting for springtime
Well winter can be cozy too
Cherish the moment, cherish the key
That leads to sane insanity
Cherish incompetence, cherish me
Don't ever cherish somebody who
Keeps on searching for a thing sublime
When all you need is inside of you
Everybody's waiting for springtime
Well winter can be cozy too
There's no real reason to be sad to the people who are
Smiling, always happy, always gay they do not know
That the edges of the mouth can move the other way
Is in your body, in your mind, getting warmer you are
Dreaming, quite useless but it feels okay to you
In a world that's dreaming too, in a world in which you
When all you need is inside of you
Everybody's waiting for springtime
Well winter can be cozy too
That leads to sane insanity
Cherish incompetence, cherish me
Don't ever cherish somebody who
When all you need is inside of you
Everybody's waiting for springtime
Well winter can be cozy too

I'm surprised nobody's commented on this yet, it's such a fantastic piece of poetry - I love the first couple of lines: "You're crying, but as long as it's transparent and not red there's no real reason to be sad"....always seems to me to symbolise when people simply can't understand anyone being upset/depressed about something that's not solid - or indeed about nothing at all - if there's no blood, what are you worried about? Sort of thing. I love the way this song contains a sort of passive hope. And tis true, winter is cozy...lol
well i have to agree, the song is very good, and the lyrics... wow
This song is about someone resigning themselves to the fact that they're depressed. They don't understand those who are always looking for something different "Everybody's waiting for springtime". She's comfortable with herself, and fine with the way that her emotions bring her.
Its a motivation song. When you are in a sad mood, look at the small things that claer you up. Everybody want spring, but winter can be gentle too. You can be glad with less than the big things. And be gentle to other people.
