Elegia Lyrics
Oh, God, I haven't read your book
I'm sure it was divine
Especially the part where you turned water into wine
Oh, God, I want you to clear my mind
It's covered up with dirt
And I want to taste your skin
One time before I taste the earth
Oh, God, I apologize
I didn't knock when I arrived
Oh, God, I apologize
I didn't say goodbye last night
Oh, God
Now I guess you have your way
As I taste the earth today
Now I guess you have your way
As I taste the earth today
Now I guess you have your way
As I taste the earth today
Now I guess you have your way
As I taste the earth today
I'm sure it was divine
Especially the part where you turned water into wine
It's covered up with dirt
And I want to taste your skin
One time before I taste the earth
I didn't knock when I arrived
Oh, God, I apologize
I didn't say goodbye last night
Oh, God
As I taste the earth today
As I taste the earth today
As I taste the earth today
As I taste the earth today

I can't believe no one's commented on this song. My take on it is that its from the point of view of a non-christian, whose died, and now finds herself at God's door. It made me wonder about what happens to people who aren't raised as christians if it all turns out to be true. Anyway, great song, great piano and, as usual, great sarah
what does elegia actually means (this is one of the most beautiful song that I like on the first album)
I found out that elegia means elegy which means A poem or song composed especially as a lament for a deceased person. so this probably written in a piont of view of someone who lost a close person
