I always thought this was a song about an ex-lover (Bonet, maybe?). It never crossed my mind that he quite literally meant his mother. The allusions to our conception of heaven are great; kudos to this one!
So amazing, lovely, and well written, but I can't expect any less from Lenny Kravitz! I'm putting this on a cd for my mother this Valentine's Day 2011.
