Going All The Way Lyrics

Well this is it
so where it's at monomaniacs
baby you know all we're good for
drugs for the kids, if the kids are flat
all dressed up to match
those shit eating grins look effortless
and if there's nothing left to die for
and nall this our beauty is just decay
and if there's nothing left to die for
then you and me, let's go out going all the way

well this is it
so where it's at megalomaniacs
baby you know it's all we're good for
those missle men with their master plan
don't get paid to understand
makes you wonder where we got these shit eating grins from

and if there's nothing left to die for
and all this our beauty is just decay
and if there's nothing left to die for
then you and me
let's go out going all the way

dreams of sea caught way inland
cut as losses we'll cut our losses
we'll cut our loss

This song is simply about suicide, teen suicide if I am not mistaken. Not much to analyze the lyrics say it all. If you listen to it and realise what it is saying it's quite depressing.

I think it's about depression, giving up on beauty (all this our beauty is just decay), and feeling like no one understands you (those missle men with their master plan don't get paid to understand). I'm also sure that last lyric is referring to psychiatrists.

Your probally both right. I think it's about a teen who begins to realize that people and society are not as wonderful as they seemed.

I agree, but it seems he's talking to someone, in fact, something... maybe the T.V? Makes you think about society these days, doesn't it?

To me, this song is about putting up a good fight against your enemy - and if there's nothing left to die for, then you and me, let's go out going all the way - basically saying, let's fight it to the end.

@The cage Thats right.

I don't think that this song's about suicide at all. I think its about the Church. "If there's nothing left to die for and all this beauty is just decay"-- the church is bullshit and there's no such things heaven. "Lets go out going all the way"-- don't stay within these guidelines on how to live your life preached by some old men who know nothing of love or life.

@fairerlori Its about living.

I really wish people would stop assuming that every song has something to do with RELIGION or THE GOVERNMENT or SUICIDE. Not every song has some crazy elaborate meaning. Think about it, the concept is pretty simple. All he's saying is that there are a lot of fucked up, hypocritical, phony people in this world but those people are of no significance anyways. Therefor, what the fuck is the point in trying to prove yourself? What is there to lose? The people who are seemingly beautiful on the outside merely wear "shit eating grins," and there's no reason to fear that, because everything they are is just a result of fear anyhow. This song gives me such a comforting feeling. I don't know how many times I've felt like this and wanted to "go out all the way" with somebody else.
