Margery Lyrics
Shaking in the press of sunlight
We rolled into Lexington
She shakes off the drop of daylight
Water beading up her chest
Bleeding down between her knees
Rivers in Kentucky flow
Between the bluegrass wavy seas
But oh, Margery
Twists the knife once more inside of me
Baited breathers set their hooks
Tuck their heads beneath the high grass
And lie and wait beside the brooks
Frustration leading back along
The alleys of a childhood
Will not release us willingly
Sticks the knife in while I coundn't the sea
And dream of where I haven't been
Close the door inside my heart
Stuck in the south Atlantic wind
Haunting only to myself
Even so, I can't stop calling
This great big hollows in my self
To the far side of the continent
Woke up in Kentucky
Where a wedding was about to end
She turned back to look at me
It's best to kill the ones that matter
Render blind the ones who see
Takes the blade and walks away from me
Oh, Margery
Love like blood is pouring out of me
Oh, Margery
My heart won't stop bleeding over me baby
Oh, I can't shut it in
It's got far too many doors to block the wind
Oh, I can't shut it in
It's got far too many doors to block the wind

Maybe this song has a connection with "Another horsedreamers dream" because he talks about a Margery. Oh well, I'm just guessing:-p Love, Tessa

Another horsedreamers blues* sorry about that

Song about letting a girl from your past go

"she shakes off a drop of daylight"
and this song wasn't good enough!!!
CCs are the best. ever.

I think the name of the song is Margery Dreams of Horses, this song is amazing

I get this feeling that the song is about a childhood love... Margery. "The alleys of a childhood Will not release us willingly"
He still has feelings for her. Or always has. And I think he takes the train back to Kentucky where she lives and finds her about to get married or engaged or something and it's like she's rammed a knife through his heart.
Then I think the part about Anna is perhaps to do with a similar thing that happens with Anna. Though I think Anna was more about how she was cheating on her fiancé with him, so there was never much hope (my interpretation). I think he finds himself in love with these people and then, probably because he's always away on tour and such, they find somebody else who's more stable.
I think this song is kinda... self pitying in a way. Like "Oh, I never get the girl... boo hoo". But I still like it all the same.

Despite popular belief, this song does not connect to "Another Horsedreamer's Blues" It is actually a sequel to "Anna Begins."

In the 3 different versions I\'ve heard:\n- The studio version (from the flying demos) --> u can barley tell he says "Anna"\n- A live version (with length 4:33) (Rare tracks/covers) --> he says "Anna" really loud with a high inflection\n- The one on the deluxe version of AAEA (1994 Elysée...)--> less of an inflection and feels slower. \n\nNot sure if that means anything...
