Superstar Lyrics

I don't listen much to reason,
everybody wants to be here,
Santa Clause has lost his mind
Easter Bunny's not a rabbit,
tricks are made for kids until,
pseudo-psycho man tells you to fly

everyone just ran around just
playing games with anti-socials,
no one ever taught you how to fall
i don't listen much to of you,
everyone's a fucking psycho,
no one ever taught you how to call

won't you take it off,
and shoot it up,
and show me how, ya used to fly.

take it off,
and shoot up,
and show me how, ya used to die.

everyone around you superstar, they can mother fucking die.

i don't give a damn about what you think,
all the pseudo-psycho hippies always stink,
no one else here brought up questions till you flied,
no one gave you any sex until you cried.
trying to be a superstar,
superstars lie.

Obviously this song is about superstars, celebrities and rockstars. In this song Santa Clause and Easter Bunny are "superstars", we think we know them, but we actually don't.

"won't you take it off, and shoot it up, and show me how, ya used to fly. "

It's asking from the eyes of the admirer, how he wants to be like the superstar.

trying to be a superstar, superstars lie.

That is just quite simply amazing. It is basically saying, you want to be a superstar, but they lie, and so do you.

I really like this song, the music is kewl too. I just like the whole feel to it, and how it talks about superstars, and how most of them are fake.

Well, it seems you think it's about superstars, I think he's talking about pop culture. (I'm going by the lyrics in the booklet.)

In the first verse, he's saying: He doesn't care (doesn't listen much to reason) what other people tell him to think. People don't know anything (you've lost your minds) and you're just liars. You had your own thoughts, until you're told what to do. Noone really cared who they played with, whether they were anti-socials or not. Noone said what would happen when you became unpopular (fell). He doesn't listen to you, everyone is clueless (fucking psychos), and noone told you what'd happen when you fell.

In the next verse, he's talking about taking off your mask, stop lying to yourself. Take a shot of reality, and think about how you used to get by. Everyone's the same, they can die for all he cares.

In the third, he's saying: He doesn't care what pop culture demands of him, all these people are full of it. Noone asked anything, or cared, until you stopped following them, noone noticed you until you cried out, trying to get everyone's attention (as if saying you're background noise otherwise).

Then he simply says that pop culture is false, summing up the whole song. Well, that's what I thought it meant anyhow. This song happens to be one of my favourites, but I never really thought about the meaning until now... just makes me like it more.
