Police on My Back Lyrics
Well I'm running police on my back
I've been hiding police on my back
There was a shooting police on my back
And the victim well he won't come back
What have I done?
I been running Monday Tuesday Wednesday
Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday runnin'
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Saturday Sunday
Yes, I'm running down the railway track
Could you help me? Police on my back
They will catch me if I dare drop back
Won't you give me all the speed I lack
I've been hiding police on my back
There was a shooting police on my back
And the victim well he won't come back
Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday runnin'
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Saturday Sunday
Could you help me? Police on my back
They will catch me if I dare drop back
Won't you give me all the speed I lack

I just want all of you people to know that this song was an Equals cover.
Yep, classic Eddy Grant.
Yep, classic Eddy Grant.
this verison of this song is so tight, so great.
Classic. Best song on Sandinista.
Are you kidding? This song is classic. So underrated; it shows once again that The Clash can do kick ass covers (same as "I Fought the Law"). The blaring siren-like guitars, the simple song construction yet relentless hooks, it all did it for me. Definitely, best song on Sandinista.
I love "What Have I Done." Yikes. Darn.
a great cover by the CLASH. it's just about being frustrated from constant bombardment by the police.
i love the way the lead guitar sounds like a siren, and the way mick jones violently spits the phrase, "what have i done!".
great song.
yeah, awesome. daaamn good job on this one.
The 'siren' sounding guitar cycle is just D....G and the CHORUS is Am.....G that all there is too it on guitar. The Levellers cover of this song is equally as good!!
yea well its not one of the best clash songs thats why its just a cover and not one of thier original songs... b/c those are all the best.
