Kanga-Roo Lyrics
i first saw you
you had on blue jeans
your eyes couldn't hide
anything
i saw you leaving, oh
i saw you staring out in space
i next saw you
you were at the party
thought you was a dream
oh so flirty
i came against
didn't say excuse
knew what i was doing
we looked very fine
as we were leaving
just like saint joan
doing a cool jerk
oh, i want you
like a kangaroo
you had on blue jeans
your eyes couldn't hide
anything
i saw you leaving, oh
you were at the party
thought you was a dream
oh so flirty
knew what i was doing
we looked very fine
as we were leaving
doing a cool jerk
oh, i want you
like a kangaroo

Jeff did two versions of this "Big Star" song-one as a B-side on one of his singles and also a live version on his Mystery White Boy album. The live version always makes my hairs stand up on my arms. The performance of this classic does it justice, the song is about an obsession with a girl whom you came across but never speak to. One of the best
the live mystery white boy version is beautiful, one of the best i agree
this song was written by jeff buckley's dad
Except it was written by Alex Chilton. Who isn't Jeff's dad, last I heard.
This song makes me purr.
Great cover of the original. Love the rock edge to it, in the last bit that compliments the softer, more melodic earlier riff
What does it mean to want someone "like a Kangaroo"?
This. Live. Superb.
"What does it mean to want someone "like a Kangaroo"?"
Maybe he wants to ride in her pouch.
I've got a version where it starts off as (the original lyric-less) Vancouver and goes straight into this, Kanga-Roo. I think its from a show he did at the London Astoria. Just amazing...
