Gunshot Glitter Lyrics
don't you wanna let go of your heart or you the beds of bliss
fortune makes fools of us all my dear materialista,
silence was insane,
the parting was mutual
don't' you want the rocket to rock out? there's a room for us both to fly.
tell the man i'm never coming back again.
tell the man i'm never coming back again.
why should you notice at all?
gone again beside you will fall down to the sea out of the skies
of gold cards and casual tears i have only come to see
you shine feminine smiles the right side is wise, more than i
i wanna be your lover.
lipstick my name across your mirror
blood red with flaked gunshot glitter
and be one with all your disown in your young life
you paranoia politician diva you paranoia politician diva
will you let go your heart, left behind a hypnotising swirl
the semi's left behind. don't you want to rocket it to rock?
there's room for both of us to fly same show everyday, don't have to bow up the sky.
so i just came from hick town left my coins behind
maybe some poor clone's gonna buy himself a line
why should you care if i crash your affair?
why should you notice me?
i really wanna see you shine i wanna be your lover
lipstick my name across your mirror
now, be one with all you disown.
fortune makes fools of us all my dear materialista,
silence was insane,
the parting was mutual
don't' you want the rocket to rock out? there's a room for us both to fly.
tell the man i'm never coming back again.

This song rocks. He reaches his highest note recorded on this track, on "the semi's left behind" that last note on "behind" always creeps me out a tad. This song is just beautiful in a ..weird creepy rockstar industry puppet way.
I think maybe this song could be about the speaker trying to relase somebody from parts of their life that they are bound to in order to allow them to start a relationship with someone again and reassuring them that this time it will be different as they will be taken care of. The person who is being addressed in the past has perhaps been mistreated by former partner(s). Yet the speaker can't seem to be able to help this person at all and if he does it's always just a series of tempory fixes until it crumbles again and leads the speaker to believe it's all just for attention and starts to get angry and agressive about this towards the end of the song
"same show everyday, don't have to bow up the sky. why should you care if i crash your affair? why should you notice me? "
yet the yearning for the heart of this person still remains with the speaker but he can't waste anymore time so decides to leave this person alone to their own devices.
i really wanna see you shine i wanna be your lover
lipstick my name across your mirror now, be one with all you disown.
Peace Out ( all that was probably me talking crap hehehehe)
@Midnight Resistance I came here to look up the lyrics and what other people think and you hit the nail right on the head. I get the same massages up until maybe the last part where I interpreted differently. Maybe the song is partly about the speaker himself -- and that both are paranoid political divas lol. Don't forget that the parting was 'mutual' so it's just not one party abandoning the other.

It's probably in my top five favourite Buckley Songs.
It has a color and Emotion Landscape to it, that I really love, and only get with songs that connect with me personally, and that's how I feel about This Stunning Song.
It shocks me what little imagination people seem to have.
This Song, was going to Rule The World.
Like All His Others
I'm honoured that I am the first, yet a little bewildered that noone has commented, what the?! Anywho, I think this song is sweet. "I wanna be Your Lover" ...Swoon.. I'll Lipstick your name across my mirror any time

Considering Jeff used his fingers to tap the beat on his microphone, this song is just pure pleasure. Like Murder Meteor Suicide Slave, don't be put off by the sound quality - the lyrics are great.
i really love the song though it's very special and has quite a sentimental feel to it ...
I love the roughness of it. Another song that, like "Meteor.." isn beautiful in it's rough, disturbing quality. Great Riff too
LOVE IT
Though not my Favourite (It's still highly ranked Right up there), It Is Possibly the most Influential Song on me.
love it in my twilight car
