I think I know why the line "Oh God, I love you" is so favoured.. Because Jeff was amazing at expressing his emotions, and making every song he sung sound like it was directy sung to you and only you.
And well Jeff, oh god i love you...
"Oh, God, I Love You" - such a simple quote but the most overwhelming meaning, it's perfect.
This is such a gut wrenching, desperate song Jeff wrote for his ex gf, Rebecca Moore. (it was a box of her old love letters that were destroyed when a pipe bust in his apartment - "hang your ruined letters out to dry") The rumor was that he wanted to try again with her after the new album was finished ... but, of course, he never had the opportunity.
even though it's unfinished it is one of the most wonderful and complete recordings of anything I've heard yet...I am completely statisfied with it. we all wish he had more time...all the time in the world...he shows us how talented he was in this song, so full of emotion and beauty even though unfinished...man, I will never come to terms with death. "Oh! God! I Love You!"

the full-band version of this track (not the one on 'sketches') really brings alot to this track. almost allows you to see what it could have been had it been fully-realized. unfortunate.
this song is so nice...like everything Jeff. All of his stuff was kind of before my time, so it's a real shame that I couldn't have the appreciation for him then, that I do now. He's just the greatest musician of all time. As for this song, it's defianantly a personal favourite. I feel asthough he's singing that third verse just to me!
