Witches' Rave Lyrics

It sounds like a scream,
I don't know what you mean.
Your witchcraft's all around me in your ragged pagan scene.
You tell me all the ways around my garden that you like.
I float just like a bubble heading for a spike.
All is well between the breasts of passenger and slave.
We'll never make it out alive to join the witches’ rave.
You'd like to see him suffer for your fantasy and thrill.
He fell sick while we made love,
He's out there, somewhere still.
Oh, I feel the spell that you have cast,
Hot, pink, nasty bubble gum,
Coming down just like a big red coal.
Oooooooo. Oooooooo.
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee

Hey! I try to keep all hidden when you come around.
Oh, no! The sight of broomsticks sliding on the ground.
You're levitating something, cause I feel so collectible.
We're all lying natural,
He's watching from a window up above
I see he loves you, I'll bring you closer...
Something in my fate says it's not right for me
Tell me, am I cursed or am I blessed? I don't know, oh
Yes!
Cause all is well between the breasts
Of passenger and slave.
I'll never make it out alive to join the witches’ rave.
Oooooooo. Oooooooo.
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee
For a guarantee.

I believe this song is about being under a woman's spell where you have almost gone mad about it, like you can't think about anything and you have all this sexual motivation and drive... But this particular girl knew what she had over him. She used it! That's what I sing about whenever I play it live.

The man himself had this to say about his song when he played it live at Arlene's Grocery, "This one is called witches rave. About a spell that was cast over me one day; I loved it as much as I hated it. I couldn't make it go away, and it probably never will... so maybe this'll help things along, Shall we? One, two, three, four..."

Shit, the lyrics are so fucking phenomenal. He was in a league of his own...

It also seems his like one of his most radio-friendly, but totally not in a bad way at all. loads of Great hooks, and riffs, and the drumming is very effective; I found myself listening to the song for the drums only for a while.

"I can't help from looking outside for a guarantee."

Man, that's such an amazing line, it's so beautiful yet haunting

i love the beat when the main bit comes in after

"all is well between the breasts of passenger and slave. we'll never make it out alive to join the witches' rave."

i want to bounce to this.

"hot, pink, nasty!!!" he loves singing it you can tell

and.. .well... all of it. I could put the whole song in quote marks here. I love it.

I wish he could have done these songs to their maximum potential...

ok so I heard him singing it live @ Arlene's Grocery via a download. And he said it was/is about a spell that was put on him and he wasn't sure if he liked it or not.:O) Typical Buckley!

I read somewhere that Jeff was staying in a friend's house for a couple of months, living with his friends' girlfriend also. I also heard that Jeff formed a relationship with his friend's girlfriend... I think this is what this song is about, seeing as he talks about cheating when the boyfriend has left the house, and trying to act natural and pretend nothing's going on when he comes home again.

Such a damn sexy song. When he sings 'Am I cursed or am I blessed? I can't tell, Oh yes!' he sounds like an angel drunk on lust.

I love this song. I don't know what it means though.

standabsolved:

I did the same thing! The drums are very catchy... I'm actually listening to it right now..

I have also listened to this song for the drums! But I do that to a lot of songs because I enjoy playing percussion.

I hear it as an absolutely sick sex drive. As if Rave is referring to lust.

Maybe someone can think of an actual explanation for this but: He changes point of view in "you'd like to see him suffer for you fantasy and thrill. he fell sick while we made love, he's out there, somewhere, still." Maybe he is referring a witch for something more?
