Photograph Lyrics

If you want it (oo-oo-oo)
You can have it (oo-oo-oo)
But you gotta learn to reach up there
And grab it (oo-oo-oo)

'Cause everybody wants some love (oh baby)
Shoot it from the stars above (oh baby)
And though my heart would break
It's more than I can take
I can never get enough

If you need it (oo-oo-oo)
You should show it (oo-oo-oo)
'Cause you might play so monastic
That you blow it (oo-oo-oo)

'Cause everybody wants some hope (oh baby)
Something they can barely know (oh baby)
And though my heart would break
It's more than I could take
I can never let it go

It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph of love

'Cause everybody wants a dream (oh baby)
Something they can barely see (oh baby)
And though my heart would break
It's more than I could take
I could never let it be

It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph
It's in the photograph of love

If you blew it (oo-oo-oo)
Don't reject it (oo-oo-oo)
Just keep drawing up the plans and re-erect it
(oo-oo-oo) (x 3)

(applause)

I think this song is about imperfect love. How people date and date and fall in love over and over and it doesn't work with this person and that person.

"It's in the Photograph of love" If you just stumbled upon my senior prom picture, not knowing me, you would think me and my gal were madly in love...But the picture doesn't show that we were fighting, falling apart, berating eachother....In a picture of love it's perfect, but in the real world love is never perfect.

That last sentence sounded really pompous.

I heard this song for the firs time the other day, by accident, actually, and I loved it! but yeah, it's basically saying, if you want something, then just get off your ass and go for it; sitting there won't get you anything.

I love you, Rivers! You're so amazing.... sigh

Haha yeah whybother, I always thought it was about blowjob too.

it's ''Cause you might play so monastic that you blow it", not "'Cause at my place overnight, suggest that you grow it". That latter sounds pretty perverted, man.

actually, i agree with you thisboy. love really isn't perfect, it's great..but you can't expect it to be wonderful all the time. i like this song..one of the good ones on the green album. the hand claps in the beginning are cool.

i think the whole photograph thing represents the split second, the moment that you tell someone you love them. it's only going to happen if you make it happen, so when he says 'though my heart will break, it's more than I can take, I could never let it be' means that it would hurt more not knowing if she felt the same than if she just said no. that's what i think anyways...
