Pink Triangle Lyrics

When I'm stable long enough
I start to look around for love
See a sweet in floral prints
My mind begins the arrangements
But when I start to feel that pull
Turns out I just pulled myself
She would never go with me
Were I the last girl on earth

I'm dumb, she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
We were good as married in my mind
But married in my mind's no good
Pink triangle on her sleeve
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth

Might have smoked a few in my time
But never thought it was a crime
Knew the day would surely come
When I'd chill and settle down
When I think I've found a good old-fashioned girl
Then she put me in my place
If everyone's a little queer
Can't she be a little straight?

I'm dumb, she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
We were good as married in my mind
But married in my mind's no good
Pink triangle on her sleeve
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth

I'm dumb, she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
We were good as married in my mind
But married in my mind's no good
Pink triangle on her sleeve
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth

I'm dumb, she's a lesbian
I thought I had found the one
We were good as married in my mind
But married in my mind's no good
Pink triangle on her sleeve
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth
Let me know the truth

This song is about a gorlfriend that rivers had that turned out to be a lesbo! haha pretty cool

@Musicpsych0 Wiki's source seems to suggest she wasn't actually a lesbian (and the man may not necessarily have been him): "The song is based on a real person that Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo encountered while a student at Harvard. Years later, he discovered that the woman was actually not a lesbian but merely showing support for the gay community by wearing a pink triangle"

Actually Audiovent, the Pink Triangle in question was one of the many symbols that the Nazi German regime required minorities to wear so as to make them readily identifiable as undesirables. The Pink Triangle was the symbol that homosexuals were forced to wear, as the Jews were forced to wear a golden star. Make sense?

I think he's just being deliberately ambiguous about whether its cock or chonk hes smoked....pretty typical really of Mr. Cuomo. But then again Hash Pipe IS about a transsexual....

My own wee lesbian should read this one, ey Simcha...

@Punchbear never knew hash pipe was about THAT

A few days later, more knowledge added. The gay males wore pink triangles, but lesbians were forced to wear black triangles. It has now been adopted by some lesbian groups as a symbol of pride.

Who knew?

Well If you watch Kevin Smith's latest film 'Jay & Slient Bob Strike Back' when Ben Affleck's 'Holden'(from Chasing Amy) character is talking to the pair, you hear this song playing in the background.

um no...... its the lesbian sign

@Audiovent Kitten the pink triangle is actually a symbol for gay pride and the gay movement (it is a "up yours" to the NAZI regime that used an upside down pink triangle to brand homosexuals).

i believe that rivers has at some point experimented with bisexuality and this song has the mild reference to it. "i've smoked a few in my time" and "everyone's a little queeer" show this. also around the same time he wrote 'i just threw out the love of my dreams' a song all about regretting throwing out a male lover. adding it all up together...maybe thats why he doesn't like to perform those songs anymore, huh?

anyways, that's what i think...

haha "here's an idea. i think maybe this song is a slight acceptance of bisexuality on rivers part. maybe not completely, but at least a hint of experimentation in which he fell for a guy. hence this song - only to be sung by a girl to keep it from being too public. he is singing at the end, saying "he" - and it also links into the "i've smoked a few in my time" line in pink triangle.

as he admits "everyone's a little queer"... anyways, that's what i think... " ~xpankfrisst in comments for...

Lol this song was basically my life. I broke up with this girl because I wasn't feeling it after I fell for this girl I saw around school. Asked her for her number like twice she said no both times. I found out from a few friends she was a lesbian. XD "I'm dumb she's a lesbian"

Memory

Woe is you :D I'm sure there are many more on campus for you to enjoy.
