Demystification Lyrics
I look out the window and I wonder at it all
Staring at the circles that decorate the wall
Everybody's going to come and join them all
But I can't go with no one till I understand the call
Don't come round for me unless you got what I
Don't come round for me unless you got what I
Don't come round for me unless you got what I want
I want some Demystification
I want some Demystification
I want some Demystification about what's going on
My electronic shaver won't plug into the wall
Now I can't go to the party, the electrician didn't call
Now I hear they're counting numbers to store them in Whitehall
There's so much information, what can they do with it all
Chorus
Some people talk of Sheba, some they talk of God
Some talk of Politicians, some they talk of love
They mystify the heroes, offer chances we could take
I'm not looking for escapism, I just wanna escape
Chorus
Staring at the circles that decorate the wall
Everybody's going to come and join them all
But I can't go with no one till I understand the call
Don't come round for me unless you got what I
Don't come round for me unless you got what I want
I want some Demystification
I want some Demystification
I want some Demystification about what's going on
Now I can't go to the party, the electrician didn't call
Now I hear they're counting numbers to store them in Whitehall
There's so much information, what can they do with it all
Some talk of Politicians, some they talk of love
They mystify the heroes, offer chances we could take
I'm not looking for escapism, I just wanna escape

I think this song is about general activism and how it seems to everyone else out of it. the singer is an outsider and she sees all the "mystery" and "importance" put on these things by the people in them, but she doesn't quite understand what is going on, cos it's not even clear enough. this whole thing maybe about one special occation, but I dont really know what could've happened in Britain then. But the last lines offer the idea that it's a general thing, people should state a clear goal when doing something, not just unclear information.
A brilliant cover of a Zounds tune from the early 1980s. BTW, the line "Some people talk of Sheba, some they talk of God" Should be "Some people talk of Shiva, some they talk of God"
