Leg Of Lamb Lyrics
You're a head case with a smile
Can't stop to make up your mind
Education is so lame (so lame)
When you bitch and you moan
You're a loose girl, I'm a guy (hey)
You're a truth freak with a lie
The situation is so strange
It's a TV show
Click
In a hotel on the phone
You're gonna leave me, I should've known (should've known)
And I was thinkin', it's so sad
I didn't want you to go
Don't want to follow the laws of man (yes sir)
Bloody apron, leg of lamb
It's so hard to win
When there's so much to lose
Infiltrate the walls that are caving in
It ain't a bad thing
This ain't reality
Infiltrate the walls that are caving in
It ain't a bad thing
Because it is natural
Second Avenue, raising Cain
I'm a sinner, ring my bell (ring my bell)
I'll tell you what, I get up
If I knew I fell
Can't stop to make up your mind
Education is so lame (so lame)
When you bitch and you moan
You're a loose girl, I'm a guy (hey)
You're a truth freak with a lie
The situation is so strange
It's a TV show

I don't see how noone has said anything about "raising cain" being in the lyrics.
Raising Cain was a movie released in 1992, with the story following a child psychologist who kidnaps children. The movie was rated R. Just like the album this song's on, obviously.
"Here's a song about cannibalism, something I think we can all identify with."
It seems to carry the theme of having a relationship with an underage girl on from the lost art of keeping a secret
I just really love the whole cannibalism idea, it fits so well with the dark humor of other QOTSA songs like How To Handle A Rope and Mosquito song.
I just imagine this song being about this guy who fucks a girl and doesn't understand that it was just a one-night stand (which is suggested that she takes for granted as she is a loose girl) so he just goes all dreamy and psychotic and kills her, possibly eats her corpse, or maybe fucks her? (Infiltrate the walls that are caving in)
So he goes all dreamy and passive as if it's a dream, the whole upbeat-psychotic-dreamy atmosphere is so well created
Love how "Leg of lamb" refers both to the fact that she's a hot young girl and that she's a meal to him, after all, It aint a bad thing, Because it's natural
some reaaaaaaaaaaally good lyrics here
by the way, you cant take everything josh says seriously when he's introducing songs, though it could be true
he's also said "This is a song about meat in a window"
I tihnk it's about a famous person, who becomes an asshole. :) Have a nice day everyone.
I always thought it was about promiscuous sex...
I think this song is so cool, and Josh's voice is SO damn good! I think it's probably about a strange situation between a guy and a girl, and as weird as it is, he kinda likes it. When she leaves thogh, he realises how much he liked it, but thinks it was for the best. I think the "leg of lamb" bit, is how he doesn't wanna conform, he likes to be different. Then again, maybe not! :-)
What the hell does this song mean? The Lyrics seem so random and the ideas and pictures portrayed seem to change from verse to verse. I'm most curious about the meaning of the bridge and the last verse... "I'd get up if I knew I fell? Did he mean "fell from grace"?
Maybe he means if he knew he fell in love, he would get up, because he knew it wasn't good for him or for her...if indeed this song is even about a relationship...or maybe he was just too fucked up to realise he fell over...I have no idea, I'm just guessing
