Broken Radio Lyrics
traffic lights turning yellow:
a kiss and a slap on the roof.
i taught you that superstition
driving downtown
with the windows down.
late at night, talking over
a broken radio.
and i kiss my fingers,
and our single headlight
winks out for the last time.
we talk about
the last time it felt right to make out.
and i'm certain, if i drive into those trees,
it'd make less of a mess
than you've made of me.
a kiss and a slap on the roof.
i taught you that superstition
driving downtown
with the windows down.
a broken radio.
and i kiss my fingers,
and our single headlight
winks out for the last time.
we talk about
the last time it felt right to make out.
it'd make less of a mess
than you've made of me.

if you listen closely you can hear the guitar strings being plucked at. perfect imperfection is what i love about r|m.

'the last time it felt right to make out' hell of a line.
i love this song.
"i taught you that superstition" i hate how when you are with someone so long you each pick up the other's idiosynchrosies. because then, when you are breaking up, they are around to haunt you, all the things you learned and got from them.
"the last time it felt right to make out" i hate that, too. when you're suppose to be together, but you don't call so much anymore, and you don't talk about anything when you do, and then it is weird to even sit next to them, much less kiss...this stranger.
and you have to love the mess line, so clever.

how perfect. i can't even describe how much this song means to me right now. because at least with an accident there would be a resolute. things could be fixed for a simple fee. but when someone does something like break your heart you have no one but yourself. and your concience does nothing but help you dwell and help you do nothing at all.
this song is so beautiful, i get goose bumples every time i hear it. mmm
i love this song, i love the lines
"driving downtown with the windows down"
and
"and our single headlight winks out for the last time. we talk about the last time it felt right to make out."
again, the harmony is wonderful and the sound is just amazing.
the lyrics are full of such beautiful anger, and everytime i listen to those lines i feel my heart stop.
