Bow Tie Daddy Lyrics
Bow tie daddy dontcha blow your top
Everything's under control
Bow tie daddy dontcha blow your top
'Cause you think you're gettin' too old
Don't try to do no thinkin'
Just go on with your drinkin'
Just have your fun, you old son of a gun
Then drive home in your Lincoln
Everything's under control
Bow tie daddy dontcha blow your top
'Cause you think you're gettin' too old
Don't try to do no thinkin'
Just go on with your drinkin'
Just have your fun, you old son of a gun
Then drive home in your Lincoln

making fun of the parents of the hippies who dislike the drug use, while drinking like fish. telling them to get drunk, then drive home, basicaly saying 'go kill yourself'.
this is juxtaposed with the dainty sounding music, making it less obvious.
hahaha great song..sounds like it could be on a kids bop cd or somethin..
Music-hall vo-do-de-oh-doh melody and instrumentation, singer even seems to be singing through a megaphone a la New Vaudeville Band "Winchester Cathedral" style. Deliberate anachromism style, like the daddy's bow tie. Located in the midst of a series of songs on We're Only In It For The Money that deal with misunderstandings between rebellious children and their neurotic parents.
I love this song......It's s a great juxtaposition of a 1960's Dad getting angry and telling his teenage offspring off after he finds out they have been smoking pot only for the youngster to turn the tables on them and point out their heavy drinking and also driving under the influence.. A perfect song about hypocrisy and the generation gap.
