I think it's just about some person who was beaten by another person, but the end is weird. heh
This is a good one...just that I don't get the ending either. Is it me or is that just strange? What the fuck is it supposed to mean? The person is looking for redemption or something? I'm confused as hell now O_o. I'll be thinking about it though...Any ideas anyone?
I don't nessacarily agree that they were beaten. To me, a person can take you down mentionally. My ex was a nut job and he was dragging me down with him. Yes, lol another song for him. And the song is missing a part "Miss you....." For me, it's my ex brought out the worse in me because of his issues. He abused me mentionally, emotionally and physically and with the "Miss you" part is that unfortuely I do miss him, but I f***ing hate him. A love\hate thing for him.
That prayer at the end, goes on about forgiving people as you wish to be forgiven. give us this day our daily bread and forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors. so I think she is saying that maybe not all debts should be forgiven
Love/hate relationship, trying to survive despite the mental abuse, trying to rise above, blaming him, then in the end asking for forgiveness, because maybe it's her fault too.
I think the end she is dead and she is praying for forgiveness or reveng or some shit like this, morgans hot, check out my band if you are in canada Bridge City Theives (were not metal)
It's a noodle scratcher =P the original of the song name though came from when a teacher at a local talent show thing told the younger girls of Kittie to "get off" the stage cos he thought they were shit.
To be honest, I don't see how this song is about being beaten .. This is going to sound pretty dumb, but if anyone has ever seen that movie "Enough" .. it has some famous girl in it, but anyways. I believe this song is based on a relationship like that, "Dog... Is You." .. Dog is mostly used as a man who is girl-crazy , at least.. that's how I always hear it. "Rude, Vulgar, Obsessive, Not True." .. Again , calling him a dog , and saying he's not true. Suggests he's girl-crazy , and he cheats on her. Anddd .. saying he's obsessive, maybe he's one of those guys who cheat, but go nuts when their girlfriedn so much as looks at another guy. And maybe he's rude, because they fight a lot over things like that, Anyways, that's what I think this song is about.
To me it screams sexual assult.
You take me down (somewhere private or physically she's beneath in some way.) You're too strong, I don't want to try (freezing is common during assault, especially if it feels like there's no point because the other person is stronger.)
She's going over the ways her assailant is a shitty person in the next verse.
Humiliation!! I'm suffocating!! Is what you feel after being assulted. It's humiliating and brings overwhelming feelings of guilt, shame, and anger.
The prayer at the end seals the deal. She's retreated to prayer either during the encounter to check out, or she has to repeat the prayer to herself after because what's done is done and shittily enough it's "God's" will that it happened, her having no say in the matter.
