Wowie Zowie Lyrics
Wowie Zowie
Your love's a treat
Wowie Zowie
You can't be beat
Wowie Zowie, baby
You're so neat
I don't even care
If you shave your legs
Wowie Zowie, baby
You're so fine
Wowie Zowie, baby
Please be mine
Wowie Zowie
Up and down my spine
I don't even care
If you brush your teeth
Dream of you each mornin'
I dream of you each night
Just the other day I got so shook up
I dreamed of you in the afternoon
I dream of you each mornin'
I dream of you each night
Just the other day I got so shook up
I had a flash in the afternoon
Wowie Zowie, baby
Love me do
Wowie Zowie
and I'll love you too
Wowie Zowie, baby
I'll be true
I don't even care
If your dad's the heat

at this moment I am sitting here feeling silly. a mondegreen type thing having caused this peculiar state of consciousness, evidently.
By what mischance had I, perforce, been laboring under misled apophanai? That the words were as follows:
"I don't even care if your Dad's a 'He'"
Yessir, this IS where Pavement got their wacky album title from.
meh... Zappa owns Pavement... I am SO calling my firstborn Wowie Zowie, the secondborn shall be called Moonunit...
Freak Out! is predominantly a record which parodies the preponderance of songs concerning teenage puppy love at the time and Wowie Zowie is no different really in that basic hygeine is disregarded in favour of "love".
That interpretation doesn't do justice to the brilliance of Zappa's ability to blend pop sensabilities, guitar noise experimentation and weird instrumentation, all combined along with a good dose of satire, which he acomplishes in such a fun and quirkymanner in this song.
