10 Miles From Nowhere Lyrics
How have you been
In the shape you were in
I'm suprised that you got where you're going
Who would believe
What a date you would be
If I knew I'd have thought about knowing
And in between now and the last time we met
I'd open the door if I met you again
And I swear that we'd be better/fair ever friends
From here until 10 miles from nowhere
What is that there
In your brown paper box
I can see that you kept all the memories we'd lost
I'd sworn it was you
Who was destined and gone
To the pressure of past undertakings
Had I had known that it might have been me
I might have returned a letter or three
Or gave you a call from the sanctuary
For the cracks in these walls tell time for a fee
From here until 10...
From now until 10...miles from nowhere
In the shape you were in
I'm suprised that you got where you're going
What a date you would be
If I knew I'd have thought about knowing
I'd open the door if I met you again
And I swear that we'd be better/fair ever friends
From here until 10 miles from nowhere
In your brown paper box
I can see that you kept all the memories we'd lost
Who was destined and gone
To the pressure of past undertakings
I might have returned a letter or three
Or gave you a call from the sanctuary
From now until 10...miles from nowhere

i think this is about a guy who broke up with a girl that loved him and he hasn't seen her in a while. he didn't think she would make it on her own, and that she wasn't strong enough.
but he sees that she still holds onto it a bit.
this is one of my favorite, fff songs. For me its just about any friend, lover or not, moving away and losing touch with them. And whenever those people do go away you always seem to be relaying on them to call or come see you. But at the same time they might be thinking just the same thing about you.
I think it's about a man who was friends with a girl or any sex really, who one of them went through some problems and started relying too much on the other. He had too much of it and left and he comes back to see how she(or he) made it on their own and that she was hurt but was strong enough to carry on
