I think it's pretty obvious what this song is trying to say. It tells the story of an artist who started out in the ghetto, worked his way to the top with the help of those around him, and started to forget them when he was overwhelmed with the fame. Unfortunately, his luck turned and he found himself losing his fanbase (ie $$). Also, on his way back down, the friends he had before hand, no longer wanted anything to do with him, because he had ditched them when he became famous.

As the song says, the moral of the story is to use your god-given talents, but remember to stay true to yourself and use them humbly.

wow... how you would gather that. you must be a rocket scientist. good job. whatd you think of the song tho. it awesome but definately not their best. they kinda butchered it live when i saw them. try 4000 miles (with Jurassic 5) or Greenlight Go or Aurual Pleasure, those are all better songs than deception.

I think this song is about Sisqo. The Thong Song brought him up. But little did he suspect that it would ultimately be his demise.
