This is about a girl that the band knew that was beautiful (the garden), but ruined herself with either drugs or sex (the flowers decayed) and she would let nobody into her feelings (no one may come here, since no one may say).
A lot of 'Heads connect the song with the 1911 novel "The Secret Garden" wherein there was a woman named Lily whose best friend was named Rose (more on that in a minute 😉)who cared greatly about her walled-in garden but when she died in childbirth, the garden also died. Years later,her niece named Mary (Rose->Mary😁) is sent to live at the mansion. That's as far as any possible allegory to the novel makes it IMHO. Anyhoo, greetings from Seattle ‼️✌️🖖🫡

i think the song is saying that someone is dead, and she comes to visit to see the pretty flowers, but when all the flowers are dead, she leaves because theres no more pretty flowers to see. i think its just looking at death as a matter of time and we can never live forever.

literally: a girl who isolated herself from everything...i picture some fairy tail rich beautiful royal princess or something...she was very self absorbed, maybe out of necessity [she knows no other way]...she eventually died, left relatively unknown, and it was very sad.
Figuratively: money can not keep you company.
I find this song allegorical of earthly life itself. Some argue that man's impermanence on earth ultimately renders his time here irrelevant, like it never existed because it never could endure. And I certainly feel like the legend on the garden wall has a similar meaning.
My favorite line by far is "The mirror was a window she sat by alone." This girl had delved deep into herself, I think, because she, struck and horrified by the transience of life, turned to vanity. I mean, at the very least, she could be certain of her physical beauty, despite the ambiguity surrounding spiritual concerns. Its very easy to cling to what you are sure of in the face of impending and inevitable decay.
But thats really all speculation...
My interpretation of this song is basically the same as you described. Its easy to become saddened by the concept that it will all end someday, yet this is just a distracting thought that keeps you from living. The girl is focused on the decaying aspect, so she tries to escape. But this costs her to miss all the beauty in the garden. ("She came dead" already)

its a beautiful song that I always thought was kind of sad. the girl was trying to escape through the mirror(referring to the mirror as a window, meaning she is using the mirror as a window and staring into it), while not being able to appreciate the beauty around her(the various colors and flower of the beautiful garden) she instead is focused on how life will eventually come to an end. Recently these questions of life and death have been rolling around my brain, and I think the message is that death is also a beautiful part of life. And also that death is only one PART of life, so that means that there is so much more. (many PARTS). Its easy to become saddened by the concept that it will all end someday, yet this is just a distracting thought that keeps you from living.
