My take: a relationship down. but yet he wants some support. "Words turn to phrases, phrases turn to words" The only thing left of the person are words and fragments of remembered conversations, and they are overanalyzed, thus making them into phrases.

This has to be my favourite song by these guys. It's such a good song on so many levels. It has great songcraft accompanied by some great introspective, and insightful lyrics.
Finch is the best band aruond. They should go in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame even though they havent hit it big major with anything they did.
I think everything about this song is awesome. I especially like the guitar in it. I'm having trouble trying to figure out what it's about though.

Finch is a really good band, but the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame? That's a stretch. They're good, but the RnRHoF is saved for the MOST amazing and influential bands/groups/people in the history of the genre. Finch is neither of these. They're a good band. But nothing amazingly special, like say, the ramones...
