I see why people don't like this song, but I think the lyrics are quite good at capturing the atmosphere of what they intended. I think the "teenage jail" is the public education system."Stare out the window You can't make the time go You don't even know why you're here" screams a boring classroom to me. "waits for the weekend to go off the deep end" "somethings always for sale" high schoolers only care about appearances. Not a bad song IMO.

Ugh. Terrible song, possibly one of the band's worse. Obnoxious, droning, tuneless, and full of bad "teen angst done by 30somethings" lyrics. I skip over this song every time it comes up.

Just wanted to put a positive vote in for this song. As far as I can see the meaning is pretty clear - it sucks to be a teenager in jail. Yes its not pretty, but it does a good job of painting an effective picture and its got some great guitar in it.
