Can't believe nobody's commented on this song yet!! One of my favorite Allman Bro. songs.

Its about a girl breaking up with him or choosing to leave. He respects her decision because he loves her so much and "holds the door open" for her. But reminds her that he will always be there for her.

"But just remember, what I said before. Please call home... if you change your mind."

sends shivers down my spine.

I guess this chivalry/devotion shit makes for a good song. Definatly not the way to be in real life.

Excellent guitar playing by Duane Allman. Duane had a light to him. Derek and Warren are probably the best replacements alive, but Duane was one of a kind. I'm envious of any of you that got to see him live.

It sounds like he's mostly alternating major and minor pentatonic scales. My guitar playing is missing that sound. Time to go back to the "basics".
