This is about a man that wants to walk away, but there is something about this woman that makes him stay every time.
i know, huh? it does sound like it uses a drum machine. the same exact beat throughout the entire song almost. but, you could look at it as constant, just like the love that he feels for her. it is constant and strong, no matter what. i think that in this song, he is just wondering why it is that they have to be fighting and arguing so much when they love each other, you know? "make it harder than it has to be" and yes. its the type of song that you would wanna drink on a cold rainy night. also, its the type of song that you'd wanna dance with your girl to makeup after a fight, after all, that's what the song is about, trying to make up..and that guitar solo towards the end of the song is chingon, too!!!

All's I know is it destroys me when I listen to it because it reminds me of that girl who I let get away,,, and still talking to her after all this time confirms what I thought... she wasn't ready, then when she was, thought I wasn't ready... then when I was ready... etc., etc.
Ugh. I'm sure one day I'll be able to listen to this song and not be reduced to a puddle... well, pretty sure... LOL

Sometimes kids have lives that just don't teach them how to love. This song is about two people who had such childhoods, now trying to live their lives, but just don't seem able to.

The song is most definitely about people who love one another but are a little messed up and lose their cool with one another a little more often than they should, and sometimes in more extreme ways, but they hold on through the years and can't let eachother go. There's real love there, they just make it harder than it has to be, and can't tell you why. There's no real reason for them to fight, they're just not emotionally secure.
