Ramblin' Man Lyrics
[Chorus]
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man,
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can.
And when it's time for leavin',
I hope you'll understand,
That I was born a ramblin' man.
Well my father was a gambler down in Georgia,
He wound up on the wrong end of a gun.
And I was born in the back seat of a Greyhound bus
Rollin' down highway 41.
CHORUS
I'm on my way to New Orleans this mornin',
Leaving out of Nashville, Tennessee,
They're always having a good time down on the bayou,
Lord, them Delta women think the world of me.
CHORUS
[Repeat and Fade]
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man...

Ramblin' Man is, in my opinion, one of the top ten allman brothers songs. Suprised more people don't comment on this.
Yes, a man on the move constantly, a womaniser. Great guitar. Is it autobiographical?
The Allman Brothers'. Best. Song. Ever.
Its inspired by a Hank Williams song of the same name. Great tune, pretty self explanatory.
It's about living life to the fullest and seeing as much of the world in the process.
Dickey Betts played the guitar on this song BTW. Duane Allman had already passed when they recorded this song. He is very underrated one of the greatest guitar players (Betts) IMO
love allman bros band
great example of southern rock
The CMT southern rock rankings put this one at Number 2. Too bad ol' Duane couldn't do this one, he'd be great for it. Oh well...great song it's a classic. I love the line "them Delta women think the world of me"
My equal favourite Allman Brothers song, the other being "Statesboro Blues".
Lovely guitar work in each song by Dickie Betts and Duane Allman respectively.
Just like that other classic southern rock band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, they were blessed with numerous and exceptionally talented guitarists.
just chillen, go with the flow song. you know what i mean? great classic guitar that everybody recognizes. just an overall classic song.
