i think this song is about how guys are mean to girls they like and then sometimes they are nice and the girl thinks yay he likes me but then he says something mean "I pick myself up off the ground And have you knock me back down Again and again" i think it just shows how girls and boys have different views on whats romanic and how to snow affection. and yes the film is great

actually this was a one hit wonder from some brittish artish I belive in the 80's Nick Lowe
this song actually makes me cry cz it reminds me of my best guy mate. its like, he tells me that hes there for me, that he always will be and that he loves me as a friend, but thn when i need him hes often never there for me, and its just so frustrating and upsetting. this song is just completely me n him. n when i ask him to explain hes just like "no seriously, ur my best friend id never want to hurt you, i AM there for you" so its like hes sticking up for himself. maybe i shud just end our friendship but hes my best friend and i dnt want to let him go. neway, my two cents and what this song is to me.
@em2000 I Can Relate I am a caregiver my boyfriend is sick but STILL hyper active but has NO time for me we make arrangements to get together and he spends like 8 hours with his brother told me he gives his nephew who has no car to the topless bar but has 0 time for me : - . ( I Think they are using his single brothers house as a Play house ? ? ?
