Just to add another comment, one of my favourite lyrics is:

Its the 'here'. to me it kinda offers hope to the situation. She is a walkover and she isn't treated right, but she has her own ways of communicating and she wants to become stronger.

i love this song and it definitly rates as one of my all time favourites. its feminist but not in the way that it shoves its opinions or labels men as sexist, its just kinda a shout out.
and gwen rocks, she is my idol/heroine/icon whatever shes all of those and more. who cares if their style has changed, they still play great and write brilliant songs, tho i must admit i prefer their old stuff, their new stuff is amazing too.

i used to love blink but iu listnened to both ther old n newer stuff n i think dude ranch was better than ther recent stuff. scott was a much better drummer. ok they became more popular, but i dnt think u cn r blame tht on blink, they just suddenly got noticed by a whole bunch o ppl that are completely the oposite o what blink and blink fans were before they "sold out". i dnt r care anymore, we should be able to listen to whatever we like, wannabies are what piss me off, but if sum1 genuinely likes sumthing thers nuthing u can do

ppps. sex pistols are proper punk, they r the ones tht started it all, and it was a proper 'movement'. therefore i dnt think we can complain about who are punk and who aren't. because pretty much all of these groups we mention are just diluted ( or in some cases veeeeery diluted) strains of original punk.

roxanne is so intense and all the strings and brilliant voices build up to such a well-fitting climax. Its so powerful, i'm even considering using it for my dance GCSE final piece because its just perfect for a complex but effective piece that i have NO idea how i'll get MY stuff to live up to the music. And of course the dancing in the film is amazing!! i would have killed to work on that film!! lol. seriously i love musicals n moulin rouge is a brilliant one. x |
