I am the plan, I am the man who tells you what and when you can.
I'm the old one that torments you. I am the voice that tells you to:
Don't get caught with your fingers in my pie.
Mess with me and boy you're surely gonna' die.

If ever you're in doubt about who or where I am.
I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere.
I am your Uncle Sam.
Electric Uncle Sam

You beg me please on bended knees not to sit among these enemies.
If you feel like you want to dance then step aside and take a chance.
Don't get caught with your fingers in my pie.
Mess with me and boy you're surely gonna' die.

If ever you're in doubt about who or where I am. I'm here, I'm there, I'm everywhere.
I am your Uncle Sam.
Electric Uncle Sam

The American Government is THE MAN! And some days he blows more chunks than a college freshmen chick at her first party. I am a big fan of Tom Morello because that man can tweak a guitar like it was a demon from the depths of despair. His style is very much his own and it's great to see him mix it up with Les Claypool. As I said rather incoherently on the Too Many Puppies thread, even though Claypool went to Berkeley in the 1980's, he wasn't swept in the conservative movement that gripped the campus. He most likely sided with the professors. His politics must gel well with Morello and they created this awesome song. It's another great song to hear at anti-war rally.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
