The Chastising of Renegade Lyrics
There was this kid in our neighborhood
His Pop had named him Renegade
He lived up to his name
With all the trouble that he made
One day ol' Renegade
Snuck into the Park Theater downtown
For a laugh he set fire to the screen
Burnt the whole damn place to the ground
He thought that no one would mind
He did that sort of thing all the time
But his Pop was waitin' for him
At age fifteen Renegade
Stole a tow truck from Arnie's Shell
Drove it through the front of a hardware
store
Spent the night in a county jail
He didn't seem to mind a bit
He liked the attention he would get
His Pop had named him Renegade
He lived up to his name
With all the trouble that he made
Snuck into the Park Theater downtown
For a laugh he set fire to the screen
Burnt the whole damn place to the ground
He did that sort of thing all the time
But his Pop was waitin' for him
Stole a tow truck from Arnie's Shell
Drove it through the front of a hardware
store
He didn't seem to mind a bit
He liked the attention he would get

A kid that isn't cared or loved about, so he does insane stuff to get attntion. The part after his pop was there, you can tell he was getting hit by the music played at that section.
I tried to decipher the background lyrics under the "Renegade, come here boy" sections that aren't included in the lyrics above. They're in parenthesis below and far from complete. You folks should help:
He didn't seem to mind a bit He liked the attention he would get
Seemed someone was always callin' his name
Renegade, ([...], Pop's gotta do what he's gotta do) Come here boy.
Renegade, (I'm stressed out all I can (??? no idea), Come and [...] like a man) Come here boy.
Renegade, ([...]) Come here boy.
Renegade, (Hands up, turn around. Reach up, shake them [...] down) Come here boy.
Renegade, ([...], best start doin what i tell you to) Come here boy.
Renegade, ([...] waste of time, ain't gonna [...] no son of mine) Come here boy.
5 years later and I'm still not sure about two of the lines (the 3rd and 4th line):

Renegade, this hurts me more than you, but pops gotta do what hes gotta do, c'mere boy. Renegade, I've done 'bout all I can, come take your medicine like a man, c'mere boy. Renegade, this hurts me more than you, my aims to try to stop what you been doin', c'mere boy. Renegade, hands up, turn around, reach or I'll spank that fanny down, c'mere boy. Renegade, this hurts me more than you, best start doin' what I tell you to, c'mere boy. Renegade, don't make me waste...

Hope that helps.
This song is a story about a kid with ADD. This kid didn't care what he did -- he just wanted attention.
Cool song, this site is missing some lyrics though, what about the part later on in the song where Les sings "Renegade, Come Here Boy" repeatedly with other background lines in between?
anyone else notice how les seems to hand the spotlight off to ler for this song, and how the latter completely steals it? The solo is fantastic, the riff is fantastic, and "renegaaaade .....come here boooyy." The most evil sounding threat ever. I dig it a lot.
Renegade... come here, boy. Scarier than Dan Akroyd.
To me, the best track of Brown cd.
i would agree with elliott, and yes I think this lers best lead off brown album, and possibly les's best bassline off the album
