Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers Lyrics
This song was originally written to bring to light the number of blue collar workers who were addicted to meth.
Curious george's drug patrol is the police, asking locals for any leads on any illegal activity. the locals are told that everything will be fine, but they know better. if the police find out about the workers, they would be locked up. But since so many workers were addicted to meth, it would devastate the town.
The workers in this situation figured that since the town depends on them, and since they are already loved by the town, they can do whatever they want.
but since "the flame that burns twice as bright burns only half as long", the workers will eventually burn out completely. les is sayng to the listener at the end of the song to sit back and watch the inevitable and disasterous end of the blue collar drug craze.
or something like that.
The blue room is the porta-potty on the construction site. A very popular and convenient place to get high on the job site.
I heard him say this song is about an old guy who can't keep up with the younger folks so he takes some speed to get through the day.
Actually, this is about blue-collar workers who take drugs to keep themselves going. The references to "tweekers", "trip or two to the blue room would help him do the trick" and "flame that burns twice as bright burns only half as long" help show this.
Actually Les said only 1 verse is about tweekin' union boys, the rest is about his blue-collar upbringing.
Those three guys up there are right. A line that stood out to me is this:
While curious George's drug patrol Is out here hunting snipe
Curious George likely means Bush Sr, and "hunting snipe" pretty much means a wild goose chase. One time on King of the Hill, Hank and the adults take out Bobby and the kids to hunt a made-up creature called a snipe for their "straight arrow" batch. Bobby ends up whacking an extrememly endangered whooping crane but that's another story. The point is he's criticizing the massive failure and waste of American tax dollars known as the War on Drugs.
And of course by "batch" I meant "badge". Don't know how that happened. And I didn't explain it that well. Les is pretty much saying Bush Sr is (was) going after an unachievable goal: abolition of all drug use, via the WoD. I hope that makes sense.
sorry, *this song was originally inspired by/written about the recent (early 90's) news stories about large numbers of blue collar workers who were addicted to meth.
had to clear up some stuff.
i've tried just about every drug there is, but i'll never touch a hit of meth.
''Tweekers'' are meth-heads, not coke-heads.
