there's 2 ppl w/ a relationship & something it's going wrong. this guy thinks there's a problem w/ her being so mainstream & doing everything for the rest of the world. he's more of an individual & she's overrated so he's trying to tell her hey ~ don't worry about it & say what you think & not what the rest of the world wants you to say

I don't think this song is about a relationship. The way he adresses everythign is too general. I think he's singing about just people in general. He saying that we would do anything to be just ordinary and difference is something you don't come across often. i know this is an old-ish song but i just heard it when i was chillin with my friends and they really thought it related to me b/c i always say the first thing that comes to my head without really thinking about it and half the time it gets people mad...so i just dont mean to piss you off with the things i might say
I registerd JUST to respond to you Torrente. Their songs have lots of meaning. They are very good with words. Politically Correct is an amazing song.
This song si basically bout he gets treated like crap because of how PC our society is. it's great social commentary.

the song is just a general description of how pc everything is. it just seems like you can't say anything without offending someone these days because our country has become so diverse. they don't think they should catch crap for what they say because they don't mean to offend anyone, they're just speaking their mind, no one can think freely because of the limitations put on us
I personally think the meaning of the song is simple. You can't state your opinion anymore without someone finding something wrong with it. And I don't mean they disagree with you, I mean they say "That's racist!" "That's sexist!" etc. Seriously, you can't say black without being accused of racism. It's so fucking stupid how we are so damn sensitive about the stupidist shit. He's basically saying, there are more important things going on in the world, why are you focusing so much on my opinion?
Everytime I try to put the meaning in more simplistic wordsthe more i fail to do so. The song is about how complacent we as a people have become, so prepared to attack(both figurative and literal) anyone that appears/acts differently. In a single sentence he's saying/asking why the hell did social interaction take precedence over paying attention to the world, and how these new teens act like they have no control over their future when they ultimatly end up inherenting the future.
