Spider And The Fly Lyrics

Empty hearts I can hear them talking
I close my eyes and keep on stalking my love...my love
No one's aware of the hunger I feel
It's something you or time cannot heal
I need someone to help me rise above

Eternal bliss is something I can show you
Spread your arms and let my wings enfold you, my love...my love
In the darkness, shades of crimson rapture
The world is ours alone to capture my love...my love...

Come over here and let me tell you something
Nothing ever comes of nothing
We pay a price for all our choices made
Come along now and take my hand
I'll lead you to a promised land
The morning after may never come again
Never be the same...

Tell me, tell me...my love
Tell me, tell me...my love

Regarding "the person who played guitar"- it's common knowledge that Sean plays all instruments on CD.

This song is simply about seduction. Sean has stated this in interviews.

I have no clue. Maybe you can find someone to tab some for you? My guitar teacher did that for me for Spider and The Fly and Where Good Girls Go to Die.

Spider & the Fly seems like a fitting title due to the harshness of the metaphor.

It seems as though he is the spider & the person he is singing to would be the fly. The fly is of course cautious of his actions. The spider is trying to trick the fly into going away with him... However, the metaphor could also be for a person who wants to be with someone, but that person doesn't want to be with them, so he offers them a grandness of sorts. He tries telling them that he'll take them away somewhere that's grand, however, he only has a hidden agenda of his own, just as the spider does to eat the fly...
