Bang Lyrics

Sitting in a SDT
Waiting for an undreground trail
To rumble underneath my teeth
Bang goes another day
Where it went I could not say
Now I'll have to wait another week
Where all is said and all is done
What was said was never done
Dont panic
It's not really worth your while
Bang goes another day
In and out of one ear
Everybody's doing it so do it too

(chorus)
I don't need anyone
But a little love
Would make things better

Siiting on the early bus
Passing through the morning rush
It makes no difference
That I'm not with you
Bang goes another year
In and out of one ear
Everybody's doing it
I'll do it too

(Repeat chorus)

i have to say i like this song. I think it's less about unrequited love and more the general desire of love. How although you continue living life without love, love makes the world a better place... One thing i'd like to know though is what to they mean by SDT?

Alright. I found out what a "SDT" is. Been doing research and even Damon says this is what it is.

Sensory Deprivation Tank

It's a tank that you get in and close the lid on. It shuts out all sounds and light, It's full of water so all you are doing is floating.

It deprives you of your senses, but it's supposed to be relaxing :]

isn't it "waiting for an undeground train to rumble underneath my feet." ? i'm pretty sure it's about really liking someone, and savoring all the time you're with them, and them not even noticing you. or it's about nothing at all and they just wrote it really fast.

Well first, Damon NEVER did any drugs! Second, The song sounds to me like he broke up with his girlfriend (I don't need anyone) and he is looking for a new girlfriend (But a little love would make things better)

i think its about unrequited love, saying you dont need the person because you have your own things to do but then realising that you do need them.

Blur hate this song, having written it in 15 minutes after they were asked to write another hit. Whatever problems it has, it feels very Stephen Street and is in some ways an indication of their future lyrical direction.

anagram of STD?

I think it's a great song... But like many Blur songs, it was rushed like hell.

"SDT"... The only think of is the Scottish Dance Theatre...

So, "Sitting in a Scottish Dance Theatre"

... I have no idea.

to me it's about monotony first of all. damon seems to cover that in a lot of his lyrics. "Bang goes another day In and out of one ear Everybody's doing it so do it too" makes you think of someone (very 'Ernold Same'-like if you will) working a shite, boring job, doing the same thing every day.

the sensory deprivation tank makes a lot of sense, especially in the sense of physical isolation. that can tie into the line "i don't need anyone, but a little love would make things better." cutting yourself off from chances at love? dunno, i'm rambling really.

fantastic song, great lyrics. unbelievable it's off a debut really. honestly leisure is one of their better albums i think.

blur rules.
