Under Your Spell Lyrics
under your spell [under your spell]
under your holy light
under your spell [under your spell]
under your only light
take anything you want
this is where i am
into my shell [under your spell]
into your holy light
into your shell [under your spell]
i walk a double line
take anything you want
this is where i am
isn't it a shame ? [isn't in a shame ?]
wondering who i ought to blame [wondering who to blame]
isn't it a shame ? [isn't it a shame ?]
wondering who i ought to blame, yeah yeah
under your spell [under your spell]
under your spell [under your spell]
under your spell [under your spell]
under your spell [under your spell]
isn't it a shame ? [isn't it a shame ?]
wondering who i ought to blame [wondering who to blame]
isn't it a shame ? [isn't it a shame ?]
wondering who i ought to blame [wondering who to blame]
isn't it a shame ?
wondering who i ought to blame
isn't it a shame ? [isn't it a shame ?]
wondering who i ought to blame [who i ought to blame]
under your holy light
under your spell [under your spell]
under your only light
this is where i am
into your holy light
into your shell [under your spell]
i walk a double line
this is where i am
wondering who i ought to blame [wondering who to blame]

A haunting song of Billy trying to stand up against a world that is moving too quickly and threatening to pass him by. It seems to be sung to God or Jesus saying "rip anything away from me that you want...you know where I am"...
take anything you want this is where i am
Or the song could be sung to a girl who (like just about every female character in Billy's songs) tears his heart away from him, and yet Billy can't seem to lose his feelings for her.
I am not sure which route I would rather believe (sung to God or sung to "the girl"), but nevertheless, this is a good, early Pumpkins song.
It's not about God. This is not sinful music. Good gosh, it's about a girl. Billy may look at Christianity a little differently, BUT THIS NOT TO GOD!!!
