Circle In The Sand Lyrics
Sundown all around
Walking through the summer's end
Waves crash, baby, don't look back
I won't walk away again
Oh baby, anywhere you go
We are bound together
I begin, baby, where you end
Some things are forever
Circle in the sand
'Round and 'round
Never-ending love is what we've found
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Cold wind, tide move in
Shiver in the salty air
Day breaks, my heart aches
I will wait for you right here
Oh baby, when you look for me
Can you see forever?
I begin, baby, where you end
We belong together
Circle in the sand
'Round and 'round
Rising of the moon as the sun goes down
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Circle in the sand
Baby can you hear me?
Can you hear me calling?
Walking through the summer's end
Waves crash, baby, don't look back
I won't walk away again
We are bound together
I begin, baby, where you end
Some things are forever
'Round and 'round
Never-ending love is what we've found
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Shiver in the salty air
Day breaks, my heart aches
I will wait for you right here
Can you see forever?
I begin, baby, where you end
We belong together
'Round and 'round
Rising of the moon as the sun goes down
And you complete the heart of me
Our love is all we need
Circle in the sand
Circle in the sand
Can you hear me calling?

I've always thought the lyrics were kind of throwaway pop love song pablum, but I love the way Belinda sings this one, especially when her throat gets growly towards the end.
My favourite song of all time.
Its pretty self explanatory with the imagery of a circle being used to connote ideas of 'eternity'. The circle goes round and round and is never ending. This is used in religous iconography to get across the idea of God being eternal.
The 'i begin where you end' is again about an continuation and never ending cycle.
'Rising of the moon as the sun goes down' is again referring to another eternal and 'never ending' cycle of day and night.
Theres maybe a little more than just an expression of eternal love with this song. Some lines like 'I won't walk away again', 'I will wait for you right here' & 'Can you hear me calling' suggest that the love is not reciprical, or in the past, or they are apart. Either way she is say that the love is eternal, there won't be anyone else and the love will still be there if/when the other person returns to her.
Such an awesome song! So so Sexy...
@newwavefan28 Has it. The person she is singing about is very important to her, she's looking out over the beach and thinks of the first time they made love, on the beach. What I can't quite get and I think it probably depends on the listener's mood is are they still together and are they still happy. As the song progresses, there seems a bit of pain the BC's voice and the lyrics seem to indicate that while she is still in love, he is either completely gone or at least checked out.
I’ts one of My favorite Love songs, the meaning to this song is eternal love with no ending cycle, and yes it’s very erotic and sexy
Her lover is dead. She is grieving. Its summers end. "Where you end I begin" and "can you here me". This is a sad ballad of permanent loss and separation.
i agree with fixxxer, its totally erotic, i would love to nail belinda carlisla on the beach. lol, beating cheeks on the beach would leave circles in the sand
I love this song...
Wowwwww
