Glorified G Lyrics
Yeah. (x4)
Got a gun. Fact I got two. That's Ok man 'cause I love god.
Glorified version of a pellet gun feels so manly when armed.
Glorified version of a pellet gun. (x4)
Don't think dumb is strength. Never shot at a living thing.
Glorified version of a pellet gun feels so manly when armed.
Glorified version of a pellet gun. (x3)
Glorified version of a...
Always keep it loaded. (x3)
Kindred to be an American.
Life comes... I can feel your heart.
Ooh, life comes... I can feel your heart in your neck.
Life comes... I can feel your heart in your neck.
Like some... I can steal your heart from your neck. Oh.
Glorified. (x2)

I take this song to be about the ridiculous obsession with guns some people (especially cowboy-loving Americans) have, and how some people can glorify them like a god (G.)...
@Nasus "Glorified G" is an anti-gun song with lyrics mocking gun enthusiasts. The song was inspired by an incident in which drummer Dave Abbruzzese told the band he had just bought two guns, which sparked a conversation about guns within the band. Vocalist Eddie Vedder about "Glorified G":

I didn't actually write that song...I was at a band rehearsal and just started writing down these things the guys were talking about. The band were having this conversation and I just took down the dialogue. One of the band members had just bought a gun. It was the drummer, actually. Ask him about it.[5]
Abbruzzese about "Glorified G":
I told our manager that I just bought a coupla guns and he told Jeff, and at rehearsal Jeff kinda blurted it out. And Eddie went, 'Whaaaat, you bought a GUN?' And I said, 'In fact, I bought two,' which ended up as the opening line of the song. I think it's fair to say Eddie was pretty outraged all of this was taken from a interview Eddie did.
"glorified version of a pelican" . . . . i had to look up the lyrics cos i didnt know what it actually said lol
@justaroo "Glorified virgin on a pelican" was mine. It's now 2015 and finally know actual lyrics.

Glorified version of a pelican is all I hear.
this song was said to be about the ex drummer and when he bought a gun, there was a lot of conspiracy about dave leaving the band, but it think the main one was that he bought a gun to protect his family and eddie and the rest of the band were not happy bout it! (not suprizing!!)
i heard it was a case of the drummer went into a practice and said "Hey, i got a gun. In Fact, I got two". The rest said "guns, like kill people man" and in reply he said "it's ok man, cos i love god". a tribute to ed ved's genius that he came up with the start of a song from that :-) . True or not, it's a cool wee anecdote
the solo at the end of this song is awesome
I don't quite understand the last part "Life comes...I can feel your heart in your neck" Any ideas?
It's about checking someone's pulse to see if theyre alive.
haha i love this song. i love the "thats OK man, cos i love god." some religious people think they can do anything and god is on their side. thats probly not what eddie was writing about, but thats what i get from it. the "always keep it loaded" chord progression is so out of left-field and brilliant - i heard that mike mcready forgot to change to it once playing live cos it comes out of nowhere.
I was listening to it at school today and thought the same thing about that "thats ok man, cause I love god" part. He's definitely mocking them, but it could either mean that they think they are invincible with "god on their side", or maybe that they can do bad things, but get pardoned for it because in the end, they love god, so they'll go to heaven regardless of what they do.

Fucking rednecks. Trucks n guns! Trucks n guns! No wonder they love our asshole president.
