Get Up Again Lyrics
Here we go again
A very temperamental process, beginning with
all of our excess
Affecting our very own ingest, this side of
you is speechless
Overwhelmed with an abscess, creating new diseases
And infecting whomever it pleases, we've been
living this way for too long, too long
Then I noticed a difference, in the way that I
saw other insects
Who were living a life of indulgence, sheltered
by their parents
Such an unlucky existence, not given a
chance to experience
And make their own decisions, I wouldn't trade
my own mistakes at all
Reach out your hands
Out for the ones who, aid when the going gets rough
Until the end. These are the ones who, help when
the times get tough
And times will get tough. Get up again. Get up again
Here it comes once again
(chorus)

I think this song is about going through all your mistakes and knowing that they wont be the end.
This song is great, like all of Flaw's songs. I think they're talking(at least in the verses) about comparing his own childhood to that of other kids. His adoptive mother committed suicide, his father sent him off to rehab centers....It's talking about how he believes, looking back on that, that it actually made him a better person("I wouldn't trade my own mistakes at all"). I don't know about the chorus. I'm not very good with song meanings.
i think part of what LesserKnownNobody says i true, but i would just like to add my two cents...:S....i think the chorus is about using having people there to support you...people there to lean on....(these are the ones who, help when the times get tough) maybe its about his friends, and how they may have helped him through some hard times...
yeah, i agree with both of you. but when i heard this song, i thought of something a little deeper than that. I had written some stuff concerning this, but this song perfectly fits what i believe....I think its about learning about "god" or christianity. how "creating new diseases, infecting" and "sheltered by thier parents" and "make thier own desicions" i think that concerns religion. what Im trying to get at is that i think he is saying in this song is about your friends being the one to "grab your hand"; your friends will be there for you because they are here. not some god that doesnt exist. and when you fall, they are there to get you up again
this song is about preps who live their intire lifes in their parents world and when they move out they get confused and diabled because their parents shielded for to long and now they're just plain out fucked
I think this song is about how some people in life have everything handed to them, and are never truly given a chance to experience what life is: learning from mistakes, and enduring hard times. And when the chips are down, and things are at their worst, don't be afraid to reach out to the people around you, the ones you can count on. Family. Friends, and such.
On another note, I think his references to "insects" is Volz looking down on the people who have had everything handed to them.
This is definitely my favorite by Flaw. The yelling and the actual singing blend perfectly together. It's almost like two different people talking.
