1:19 Lyrics

Ray of light annoying as a cold breath in the eyes
Water falls down

Lights around are flashing
and in meat a razorblade
water falls down

Seems to be the day
(I cannot handle this)
listen to the music in my mind
for a while

seems to be my hour
my shell has disappeared
swallow whirls of dust into my mouth

But it's wonderful I know

Hiding all my fear
my nightmare is becoming real
take a look at me
I'm a loser

Hiding all my crimes and then
forgetting all my ideas
Take a look at me
I'm a loser

I'm a loser

Long time since anyone commented on this but I was revisiting this song as it always puzzled me. I believe that the song is based on Joan of Arc. She was burned to death at the age of 19. I think the song symbolizes someone young already dying or on death row "seems to be the day", the time has come and they are examining their life, their dreams and failures and saying I am a loser because - 1:19, 1 year to 19 years old, it's a waste of life "Hiding all my crimes and then Forgetting all my ideas" Forgetting that they had dreams of what they could become but ultimately choosing crime or just a bad life choice, that has gotten them here instead.

We all know what it is to experience envy. Can we really hold our head up high as we compare ourselves to one with greater appearance, wealth, or social status? When we must stand in a group with these people, how do we stand our ground? Self-esteem is not abundant for some people. Confidence is delicate, and fragile like glass. When we drop it, it shatters into a thousand pieces.

The line "swallow whirls of dust into my mouth" is a great one for visualizations. You feel like you are chewing on dust sometimes when you talk to people because you feel so bad.

someone please tell me why evanesance is big and lacuna coil isnt? anyways awesome solo in this song and great lyrics, exactly what lacuna coil is, talent. It seems to be that you can't get ahead in life and just so many setbacks and roadblocks.

Lacuna Coil IS Big! However they're not on the 'top countdowns' of shitty music listeners. Which makes their following a dedicated bunch of people who know Good Music without having to be told what it is. By the way You seem to be implying Evanesence is Similar to Lacuna coil. I understand the female singer hitting all those wonderful notes is a similarity, however the bands are totally different in background, sound, AND Image. <3 Lacuna Coil <3

Lacuna Coil has a darker sound, Evanescence has a more mainstream one. Why does everyone correlate the two? I love them both, but come on, they aren't that similar.

Still trying to figure out what 1:19 has to do with the lyrics. All Andrea and Cristina are saying is that it's the distance between two places... I'm thinking the description makes it look like a crime scene or perhaps a religous building, but those are a bit too obvious to be right =/. Then, it also reminds me of a delusional scene, perhaps suicidal? "Lights around are flashing/and in meat a razorblade/water falls down" -- Candles flicker, razorblade, and bleeding? That's a far reach, someone should plant a general idea before I spout out nonsense again...

I take this song as someone who's sentenced with the death penalty.

I happened to have a personal connection to Lacuna Coil, because they have a history that extends far beyond Italy. In fact the original members of the band were based in - get this - New Orleans, LA. The original lead guitarist wrote this song after watching a TV movie about St. Joan of Arc, which directly plays into theories about someone being sentenced to death. The song was originally titled "Wonderful," and the reason it held that title was because the little girl playing the young Joan in the movie kept yelling the phrase, "It's wonderful! Everything is wonderful!"
