Very nice song. I remember when this came out. I LOVED it. I miss those days where there was a new Michael Jackson song you could fall in lovbe with.

I think this song is about promiscuity and how relationships now are different from how they were back in the day. Now it's just about sleeping with as many people as possible, with no relationship involved. And everybody thinks they're safe and they're gonna be okay until something happens, like an STD or a pregnancy or a woman who won't leave you alone.
"To escape the world I've got to enjoy that simple dance" Mike's likened sex to dancing before. Remember Billie Jean? "We danced on the floor in the round"? He's talking about sex as an escape, but it's also dangerous.

LOL I heard a Sailor Moon song that sounds kinda like this. If you listen to the Sailor Mars song "Fire Soul Bird in Love" the chorus sounds just like the chorus to this song. Both songs are pretty cool though.

I think any song can be interpreted according to the listener, but I think it's absolutely brilliant that we can say how we've interpretted great songs like this here!!! I always thought this song was about the lack of love and commitment in relationships nowadays, like frostypeanut said...but that's just me
