this part i'm sure of. In the building of the empire state buildings and other buildings, people used native americans because they were "fearless of looking down". now this part i'm not sure. i think frank is somewhat amazed by it. he probably wonders about what goes on in a navajo spirit.

In NYC and other places, many Mohawks (nicknamed "Skywalkers") found work in the high-rise construction business... I've heard they were naturals at walking across narrow beams, placing one foot directly in front of the other.
For some reason, whenever this song starts playing. I think it's The Cure. It has that same sound to it or something.
The opening drum always makes me confuse this with Wave of Mutilation for the first few seconds, but then that SOUND...I can't even describe it...and I instantly know what song it is.

I just remember seeing this thing on the history channel in which there were these huge deserts in which native americans (I believe) had etched very large patterns into the sand. They had constructed air balloons and royalty would fly up into the sky and look at the artwork etched into the sand. (I watched this a very long time ago, correct me since I'm probably very wrong)

Made me think of that. Although the first line "Upon construction" and "skywalk" kind of gives it away that it's about high-rise construction.
I love the curiously romantic way it's described (along with the music) that makes it seem almost as if he's describing a supernatural act, but then he goes, "Oh no!" at the end, which makes me laugh, because it's like he's literally pulling us back down to earth. Gravity always wins my friend - just ask Thom Yorke lol.
