One of, if not the most beautiful Pixies songs ever. I heard it was about chasing a pig through a forest with your girlfriend, but I could easily be wrong. A great song to fall asleep to, very peaceful.
Love this song too! Last week we were driving through Sedona, Arizona for the first time and were playing and singing along to this song! Sadly we didn't see any havalinas 😕 but we did see some coyotes, lizards and kangaroo rats. What a beautiful state AZ is!!

The most beautiful song ever.
I see this song as a counterpart to "Caribou" (in that the chorus is simply the repetition of an animal's name, and both songs seem to express envy/reverence for the wild and free nature of their lives).
This song isn't about people at all, it's just a pastoral image of a Javelina wandering about the trees of Sedona, Arizona.
Im pretty sure its Sedona, Arizona. So yeah, this song is pretty self-explanatory.
@Superabound Yes it is Sedona, Arizona

This is a amazing song that really is a overlooked Pixies masterpiece. I think it's about simply just walking along a beach in Arizona enjoying life without worrying about money, jobs etc.
Such a great closer to Bossanova, so simple and pretty...
minor factor, colinf, i don't think there are any beaches in arizona, i think it's landlocked.
One of the best songs ever life is good.
In arizona, the Javelina (a small warthog) is hunted for sport. I think he's referring to that animal in the song. Perhaps he is writing about living out in the wilderness as a Javelina.

There aren't any large beaches in Arizona either. It's mostly desert and plains.
