Sunday Bloody Sunday (U2 cover) Lyrics

I can't believe the news today
I can't close my eyes and make it go away
How long, how long must we sing this song
How long, how long
Cause tonight, we can be as one, tonight

Broken bottles under childrens feet
Bodies strewn across a dead end street
but i wont heed the battle call
It puts my back up against the wall

Sunday, Bloody Sunday
Sunday, Bloody Sunday

And the battles just begun
Many battles, but tell me who has one?
The trenches dug within our hearts
And mothers, children, brothers, sisters torn apart

How long, how long must we sing this sing
How long, how long
Tonight, we can be as one, tonight

Wipe your tears away
Wipe your tears away

Wipe your tears away
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)
Wipe your tears away
(Sunday, Bloody Sunday)

i think U2 did a similar song, this is just a er..shorter version (i think they cut a verse out). It basically highlights the pointlessness of fighting in a war, and that there is no solution to mindless bloodshed...
