"Johnny Quest" is the nickname that LTJ gave a kid who insulted LTJ saying they "ruined Gainesville punk rock" with their horns and ska. I guess they got revenge, didnt they?
This song is really funny. You can tell the guys are making fun of people, especially the punk purists ("God! How dare they do something that actually has a melody and requires skill? POSERS!")
From what I heard when I saw them and Reel Big Fish in January, they said that at one of their early shows a kid with blonde hair that resembled the cartoon character named Jonny Quest called them sellouts. They in turn made this song, although now they admit if someone called them sell outs today they would completely agree.
this is great song. its great that less than jake can make a song great with such simple lyrics.
