Magic In The Air

Great song about the energy that newfound love can bring. It's about meeting someone that you instantly want to know everything about. But the song also seems to anticipate the end of this infatuation, perhaps realizing that this feeling of intimacy has happened before - like saying hello, but realizing that soon you'll be saying goodbye. But in the end it is optimistic, saying that this is alright and if it is meant to be, it will be.

I like this song, just I found it weird that it would end without singing the last verse:

"Cause love is contagious, when it's alright Love is contagious, when it's alright Love is alright."

Actually, in the European version of the CD, the last verse was included but it was not exactly the same as what was in the booklet.

"Cause love is contagious, when it's alright Love is contagious. Love is contagious, when it's alright Love is contagious."

Not true, actually. It was randomly distributed. For example, I live in Canada, but during a trip to the UK I picked up Bewilderbeast. My CD has no such last verse.... but Live@Glastonbury has it so I'm satisfied =)

Its such a romantic song.. sigh

The simplicity of the piano and the odd acoustic guitar is beautiful and the strange distant sounding voice sounds like a memory. Its a wonderful song. The perfect portrayal of being in love, but it has a strange melancholic sheen to it. Thats what gives it a slight edge and all in all, its head and shoulders above other songs about relationships.

this is my favourite badly drawn song... it has a dreamy feel about it, as if he's dreaming and looking back fondly on past events. i love it.
